Helping Filipino Farmers Access the Seeds to Their Future
Background
The Philippines is one of the most climate-vulnerable nations in the world, containing over 7,000 islands of diverse eco-systems ranging from coastal landscapes to dense, tropical, forested mountainsides. Rural and peri-urban communities as well as small farm agriculture continue to see the largest impacts of the changing global climate. As weather patterns become more unpredictable, the right conditions for growing crops change dramatically. Farmers need to regain flexibility in their growing methods and plant a wider diversity of crops. Filipino farmers continue to lack access to high-quality technical training programs about local seed production and they are limited in accessing a wide diversity of locally produced, regionally adapted seeds.
Our Solutions Ensure Farmers Success
We offer strategies that allow farmers to build economic sustainability and end their dependence on unsustainable practices.
