Filipino Farmers need your Help

After many years serving coffee from the Philippines at the Global Seed Saver Annual Nourish Event, I decided to join the Board of Directors. One of the main reasons for participating on the board is to assist in creating Food Sovereignty for the Island Nation of the Philippines.

As you may know, I am part Filipino. This small bit of heritage has drawn to start Venture Coffee Company and Tribung Kape, Inc. Both of these companies goals are to assist the coffee industry of the Philippines attain recognition worldwide. By doing this, securing financial, economic, and environmental sustainability for Filipino Coffee Producers. This will lead to Seed Sovereignty within the coffee industry where farmers are able to propagate coffee trees from their own seeds.

The work being done by Global Seed Savers is instrumental in educating the farmers and communities on the value of saving seeds along with creating future of farming.
